My New Year’s Goals

“An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in.
A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.”
I would like to think that I’m a highly ambitious person. Sometimes I can get a little carried away. However, it is 2012 (supposedly humankind’s final year of existence) and I want to do it big. Here are my goals for the New Year:
- Get my hustle on and save up enough money for college and beyond.
- Lose about 60 pounds and get back to my pre-emo (if there is such a thing) weight. I want to adapt to a healthy diet (I use the term loosely) and exercise routine. This doesn’t necessarily mean that I have to give up all my vices: *cough cough* Coca Cola
- Dominate the subject of mathematics (at least up to calculus). Math is the subject I like least. It takes a bit more effort. Besides, if I want to major in economics or computer science, a strong background in math is imperative.
- Figure out what I am TRULY passionate about. My problem: I like everything. Therefore, it makes it incredibly difficult to decide on a major.
- Find balance in life. Work hard, play hard.
- Be more sociable.
- Stop being so self conscious.
- Leave my pessimistic attitude behind.
- Be more I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T.
- Travel.
- Take up an artistic pursuit.
- Savor things in life instead of consuming.
- Forgive mistakes and leave the past in the past.
- Have more patience with myself and others.
- Re-establish meaningful relationships (with friends that I neglected).
- STOP PROCRASTINATING (I say this every year).
- Take risks. Calculated ones of course :)
- Do a bunch of really random stuff: see a band perform that I don’t really care for (30 Seconds to Mars, eek), re-enact a scene from Singing In The Rain etc…
- Act on my instincts. Stop second guessing myself.
- Come up with some crazy innovative idea and build a business on it?
